MLK 2013

Antioch 2014 | 6th Annual FREE EVENT


The 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Program is open to middle and high school students who reside in the Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) boundaries. The submission topic is "Standing Together, Living the Dream". Judges will be looking for work that best represents Dr. King's vision.

Application deadline is Friday, January 10th, at 12 noon. Submissions may be written or visual. Visual work must be submitted on a DVD or CD to be considered. Work submitted is based on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s philosophy of Standing Together, Living the Dream".

Written may be a poem or essay, short story, etc. Visual may be a story told through video, photographs, music, etc. and needs to submitted on a CD or DVD. 
Note: Student name/information must be on the back of the visual.

The MLK Scholarship Program is to open middle and high school students who reside in the Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) boundaries. Application deadline is Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 4 PM. Applications and submissions must be received by that date. No late submissions accepted. Applications and submissions must be to the Antioch Unified School District Office. Label your submission: MLK Submission, 510 G Street, Antioch, CA 94509.  All entries become property of the MLK Committee and will not be returned. Electronic format submissions may be emailed to Diane@Art4Antioch.org. Include the information requested in the application with your submission. The district office is closed December 23rd, 2013 January 1st, 2014. Submissions submitted during this time may be placed in the door mail slot. Label submission envelope/package with MLK Scholarship and your name/school. Enclose this application with your submission.
