Nancy
Roberts:
"Inspired by Jazz"
May 5 - May 26, 2007
Artist Reception:
May 5th, 4-6 PM
Jazz
musicians improvise with musical colors. Their music is from the
heart, swinging with a blend of structure and freedom, precis
ion
and playfulness. Familiar tunes become something new and exciting
with each performance.
Nancy Roberts's
paintings are improvisations, too, "like giving reality a little
twist -- heightening color, streamlining shapes, weaving syncopated
patterns through the design.
Unfolding like
a fast-paced jazz solo, each painting is a joyful exploration of
harmony, rhythm and spirit".
