Miniatures: A Reflection of
History
Special Exhibit, Wednesdays & Saturdays in
February (1-4 PM or by appointment)
Miniatures have
captured the fancy of artists and devotees of the arts for centuries,
whether porcelain kitties or miniature portraits. Children are especially
fascinated by seeing everyday objects reduced to their size.
Scale model miniatures
(1 to 1 or ½ to 1 or even Ό to 1) help us to recreate whole rooms,
scenes, and even houses as reflections of events, settings, and times that
are meaningful to us. From the art deco rooms of the 1920s and 30s, to a
50s soda parlor, to a 4th of July picnic, miniatures help to remind us of
our own personal history as well as that of the times.
A
couple of vintage
doll houses simply remind us of the hours spent creating our own little
families and the worlds they inhabited.
Come and visit this
special exhibit to relive memories and share them with a child or
grandchild. Also, be prepared to be amazed at the craftsmanship and detail
presented in each of these exhibits. Dont miss this great exhibit! For
