Lynn House Gallery

Located at
809 W. 1st Street,
the Lynn House Gallery exhibits present a wide
spectrum of themes, media and
styles, with an emphasis on providing opportunities for local
artists throughout the year. Admission to the Lynn House Gallery is free. The gallery
is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during exhibits. Guided tours for groups are
available by appointment by calling Curator Mark Roberts at
(925) 779-7018.
Art4Schools
A partnership with
Antioch Unified School District to enhance arts & cultural programs.
Current programs are funded by
Contra Costa County District V Supervisor Federal Glover
through a Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund Grant and will begin in
January. Programs concludes with student exhibit at the Lynn House
Gallery. The participating schools for the 2006-07 grant years are Carmen
Dragon, Turner, and John Muir Elementary Schools.
Art & Science 4Schools
Through a grant from
The Dow Chemical Company, this Community
Engagement Grant of $2,500 has been awarded to the Arts & Cultural Foundation
of Antioch to create a partnership with
Antioch Unified School District to enhance science studies at
Antioch Senior High School. The Arts & Cultural Foundation funded an
additional $1,000, bringing the total grant to $3,500.
In the fall of 2007, the science students studies at the Dow
Wetlands Preserve will be enhanced by incorporating art into the learning
experience.

June
Provides our community and
artists the opportunity to celebrate the essence of art and the creative
process. Some artists have shown and sold work, and others have never
shown their work outside of their own personal circle of friends and
family.

All-Age Summer Concerts July/August
Concerts are held at various
locations in Antioch, click on link above for dates/times & talent. There
is plenty of lawn seating at each venue, so bring a blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic
basket (umbrellas are recommended). The Summer
Concerts Series is funded by the
Lesher Foundation,
City of
Antioch,
East
County Times,
Comcast,
Antioch Press, and
Suite G
Productions.

Free Children's Summer Concerts
July/August
The concerts designed for the
enjoyment of the toddler set (0-5 year olds). In 2006, thanks to a grant from
Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund and
Contra Costa County District V Supervisor Federal Glover,
these free concerts will be available for the under 5 year old set (and their families!).
Our Summer Concerts will be the
Prewett

Holiday De Lites 1st Saturday in December
For over 20 years, this event begins the
holiday season the first Saturday in December each year. There is something for everyone-street parade,
craft and food booths, children's activity area, cookies with Mr. & Mrs.
Clause, lighted boat parade, and
more!
