 WANTED: Refrigerator Magnets! (see photos)

The City of Antioch, Futures Explored Inc., and ALIVE (Actively Living and Involved in a Variety of Endeavors) is collecting refrigerator magnets to be reused by members of the ALIVE Team to create an art car on April 20th for Earth Day 2007.

THEY NEED YOUR HELP! 

Hundreds of refrigerator magnets will be needed to fully cover a small pick-up truck and the group is
asking the community to donate magnets for the project. Magnets can be dropped off at the Nifty As Is Thrift Store,  located at: 218 I St. and is open Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 4 PM.

The ALIVE Team will create CAR ART on a 1998 Toyota Tacoma in the parking lot across from the ALIVE Thrift Store, located at 218 I Street, Antioch, CA from 11 AM - until finished (around 2 PM). Come by to watch the fun and receive information on recycling , how to dispose of hazardous materials and more. Plant Pride Not Litter Temporary Tattoos will be distributed (while supplies last).  
 
ALIVE is a highly innovative program, serving primarily those with severe physical and some mental disabilities.
The ALIVE Program is designed to increase the quality of life for its participants by providing individualized opportunities, which enable them to more fully participate in their community and achieve more independence in their lives.  Participants receive a variety of services including individual assessment of needs and skills training.  They also obtain instruction and personal assistance that enables them to engage in activities of their own choosing to enrich and fulfill their lives

Nifty As Is Thrift Store is open to the public for great bargains--clothing is a buck a day, everyday!
